“ Inspiring people. They’re out there in many forms and disciplines, pushing the limits and defying the odds. I can name a few off the top of my head right now, but I can’t name that many that I know personally. I am, however, fortunate enough to call one of them my good friend, Mike Cohen. “Mikey NY,” as I know him, has been through and overcome more obstacles than most at a young age. And he has been a constant source of inspiration to me and many others in dealing with our everyday lives and struggles.

It’s funny; inspiration can often arrive in the most unexpected ways. As an artist and designer, I usually sketch without really any subject in mind. I am seeing what shapes start to appear on paper arbitrarily, like staring at the sky and making figures in the clouds, which is the exact method used in creating this heart graphic. Sketching random lines, it started to surface on its own, strangely, just like a cloud. It didn’t hit me until days after drawing it, what it meant and who it was for. So naturally, I was excited to share it with Mikey, and I hope it serves as a humble thank you for being a constant source of inspiration and always a reminder to keep going.“ - AH
